At the Chinese new year festival in Chinatown they fired off all sorts of poppers that shot confetti out like a cannon. I noticed that some of the confetti looked like half-size dollars and euros. It’s probably a good luck thing but at the same time I can’t help but think its a statement about our economy… Dollars and euros might as well be confetti they way our central banks are printing it!

This painting is part of a series of bank bacchanals that I’ve made over the past year. They depict a group of debauched partygoers coupled with a fitting slogan and bank logo, I’ve done Wells Fargo, Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citibank, all the crooks on Wall Street, but in this case it’s Bank of America. The piece is lushly painted with thick bold aggressive brushstrokes bordering on the abstract which makes for an interesting image from 2 inches away to across the room. A real conversation starter! The Power To Do More. Too Big To Fail, Too Big To Jail. The dance of the eternal bailout.
